Sarwar Ahmed is the publisher of Ethnic Media Group, which produces four weekly newspapers – Eastern Eye, Asian Times, Caribbean Times and New Nation. Sarwar started his career in 1989 when he launched Eastern Eye with his brother Sarz to target second and third generation Asians. As Britain’s first tabloid newspaper it was an instant success. In 1993, Eastern Eye was bought by Southnews plc, one of the UK’s biggest newspaper publishing companies.
